Lately, I’ve been learning something about myself… not everything needs a deep fix. Sometimes, I don’t need to sit and overthink every feeling or wait until I feel 100% to start living again. Sometimes… I just need to get out the house. To go somewhere that feels good, shift my environment, and let life touch me a little again.
So if you’ve been feeling a little off, or like you’ve been in the house too long, these are some of my go-to spots on the Mississippi Gulf Coast that always help me feel like myself again. Nothing major, nothing overwhelming… just simple moments that pour back into me.
Walk on the Beach at Sunset
(Free — and honestly, one of the best)
There’s just something about being near the water that slows everything down.
A sunset walk on the beach is one of the simplest ways I reset. No plan, no pressure. Just me, the sound of the water, and a moment to breathe.
What to expect: A quiet, peaceful vibe. Soft breeze, pretty skies, and space to clear your head. Perfect for when you don’t feel like doing much but still need to get out.

Dinner at 701 Craft with the Girlies
(Mid-range — cute, social, feel-good energy)
Sometimes the reset isn’t quiet… it’s laughter.
Getting dressed, linking up with your friends, and sitting down for a good meal does something for your mood every time. This is one of those spots where you can just be present, talk, laugh, and feel like yourself again.
What to expect: Good food, cute atmosphere, and a space that feels like a proper “we outside” moment. Great for catching up and getting out of your head.

The Quickie Facial at The Ten Spot
(Affordable self-care — quick but effective)
When I don’t have time for a full spa day but still need a little reset, this is perfect.
It’s quick, it’s intentional, and it gives you that refreshed feeling without having to plan a whole day around it.
What to expect: A short but relaxing experience that leaves you feeling clean, refreshed, and a little more put together. Perfect for a mid-week or low-effort reset.

A Day Trip to Bay St. Louis
(Low to mid-range — soft, slow, and scenic)
If you need a change of scenery without going too far, this is it.
Bay St. Louis has that soft, slow vibe that makes you want to walk around, explore, and just exist for a little while. It’s perfect when you want a reset that feels like a mini getaway.
What to expect: Cute shops, good food spots, water views, and a calm pace. You can make a full day out of it or just go for a few hours and still feel refreshed.

Full Spa Day at IP Casino Resort Spa
(Higher-end — full reset energy)
Sometimes you need more than a quick reset… you need a full pause.
A spa day here is my “okay, let me really sit down and take care of myself” moment. It’s not everyday, but when I do it, I always leave feeling lighter.
What to expect: A calm, quiet environment where you can fully relax. Massages, facials, and a chance to unplug for a few hours and let your body catch up.

At the end of the day, I’m learning that I don’t have to wait until I feel perfect to go outside and enjoy my life. I don’t have to figure everything out before I move. Sometimes, the shift happens after I get up, get dressed, and step outside.
So if you’ve been feeling a little off… maybe you don’t need a full reset. Maybe you just need to go somewhere that feels good.
Start small. Pick one place. And let that be enough.
